What dog owners are saying
Recent review snippets help visitors gauge vibe, upkeep, and who each park suits best.
The park was beautiful even in the off season. There's a large field for picnics, a waterway, beautiful areas of rocks to climb near the water, plenty of benches and the sunset on a clear day is beautiful. My only complaint is that in the off season when there isn't much park maintenance, there's dog stool in the grass from people who don't curb their dogs or let their dogs off the lease (which is against park rules). Overall a great place to spend an afternoon/evening.
Read more about Davenport ParkIt's decent size. Bring toys, there is only 2 community park fetch items. Bring water. The hose for water doesn't work till labor day. Humans need to learn how to pick up after themselves.
Read more about Pelham Bay Dog RunThis park is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing day outdoors. The BBQ area is well-maintained, making it a great spot for families and friends to gather for picnics and cookouts. There’s plenty of sitting space, both shaded and open, which makes it comfortable whether you want to enjoy a meal or just take in the natural surroundings. One of the highlights is the hiking trail that connects three islands, offering a unique experience with scenic views at every turn. It’s not too difficult, so it’s enjoyable for both casual walkers and more active hikers. For those who love the water, the park also has a small beach area—perfect for kids to play, or for anyone to relax by the shore. Overall, this park balances recreation and relaxation beautifully, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy nature, food, and fresh air all in one place.
Read more about Five Islands ParkCozy spot with great views, especially of nearby Glen Island Park. Even when it’s busy, there’s plenty of space to find your own quiet corner. Not a beach park, but the views make it worth visiting. Went in late September and practically had the place to myself—made for a really relaxing experience.
