Read more about Cook ParkGreat place to go for a walk. It was designed by John Bogart and John Cuyler who were inspired by the philosophy of Frederick Law Olmsted; the architect of central park and the US Capitol. The park resembles central park with its open spaces and winding paths. Dogs are welcome, but please clean up after them. There is the Amphitheatre which seats 900 and hosts concerts, the tulip festival, and other local events. One of the nicest parks in Albany for sure.
Read more about Washington ParkPlease be careful with your pet running up and down the hills. They are full of crickets. My goldendoodles paws and legs were covered in prickets
Read more about Frank Waterson Park (Westland Hills Park)This park is a very good place for families and kids. There is a big field where you can play soccer, jog, or walk your dog. The park also has a swimming pool, but only Albany residents can book it. If you are visiting from outside Albany, you must register through an Albany resident’s CivicRec account to use the pool. The park is clean and has a beautiful view. There are benches to sit on, picnic areas, and a bike rack where you can lock your bicycle. It’s a peaceful and safe place for everyone to enjoy. Overall, it’s a great place to visit, especially in the summer. Kids can run and play, and adults can relax. It’s fun for both families and friends. I give it 4 out of 5 stars because it’s missing a few small things, such as public grills , but it’s still a very nice park.
