What dog owners are saying
Recent review snippets help visitors gauge vibe, upkeep, and who each park suits best.
There is a parking lot at the dog park, located on Welsh Bush Road at the intersection with South Park Drive. You can park there or walk from the main parking lot at T.R. Proctor Park near the new playground— either on the sidewalk on Welsh Bush Rd or on the path with the pedestrian bridge that crosses Starch Factory Creek. There are two separate fenced areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs. Each area is equipped with a trash can, dog washing station, and a water fountain for both people AND dogs. There is also a sheltered area with benches in both parks. For now, the park appears to be free to access as long as your dog has a valid license, but according to a posted notice from the office of the city clerk, they will be charging fees and requiring a permit to use the park.
Read more about Dog ParkI haven't been to Proctor Park in years, because I moved an hour away. We took our son here today. The new playground is state of the art; beautiful. They also had a splash pad, which was so fun for all the children. Great time for all of us. Will make the drive again before summer ends.
Read more about F T Proctor ParkLarge new playground near fields with a splashpad and adjacent pool. Great for my almost-5-year-old! Much of it was too big for my 3 year old.
Read more about TR Proctor ParkThere was a ton of poop piles that people have not picked up, makes it gross for the dogs and me to walk around. It blows my mind people don't clean up after their pets.
