What dog owners are saying

Great place for Family reunions. Been coming to this park for over 40 years now. Thank you for the upgraded Bathrooms, but my only Down fall for this is the Dog Park. A few dog owners let there Pitbulls out an they took off after a few of my younger cousins and I just don't understand why Shelby would put a dog park in at this location. But its whatever. Still a good location for families to come together
Read more about Rabold Park and Dog ParkVisited Gorman Nature Center the morning of 9-2-25. Nice vistor center, with animals and indoor restrooms. Very welcoming and informational. Nice paths that takes you off the beaten path despite being so close to development, it's a great little escape into nature. We saw many critters and enjoyed our quiet adventure. Paths were somewhat hard to navigate. I wasn't to worried as where you're at, it's unlikely you'll get stranded or truly lost, and it was enjoyable sorting it out but the signage or paint can be easy to miss, or crossroads confusing. We started on the red trial, ended up on the green trail, and finished on the blue trail. 😆🤷... one trail with a covered bridge was seemingly closed off. We will most definitely visit and explore more.
Read more about Gorman Nature CenterNice paved trail with some pretty views. Trail isn’t very long but I made several laps to make my walk long enough. It’s easy access right off of Straub road and not usually a very busy place.
Read more about Fox Glen ParkNice little dog park. Brought my GSD to run off leash and play in the snow. It would be nice if there were benches to sit on in various places within the fenced in area. ( There is an obstacle that you can sit on, if no one is using it. ) Note: If park service would put in benches, please place them a good distance away from the fence, so the dogs can not use the benches to jump out. I have been to dog parks at rest areas that have benches inside fenced in dog area, that are right along the fence!
