What dog owners are saying
Recent review snippets help visitors gauge vibe, upkeep, and who each park suits best.
This is hands down the best dog park in Austin. We take our 2 year old and 14 year old pitties here and they always have the best time. From the pools, to the splash pad, to tennis balls galore, and even cute costumes on occasion, they are always so happy to be here and enjoy the amenities! They love to see their friends that work to keep them safe and who know them by name when they come in the park! We love the cute events they host, like dog prom and the holiday photo ops! Now to the serious stuff, my younger pup is a nervous girl but loves playing with other dogs. She can get overstimulated at times and has her moody moments but the staff is incredible at recognizing behavior and subtle cues from her and other dogs around her. They never judge if she does have a “ruff” day and gets a little snippy (which as a dog mom can be embarrassing when your kiddo is being a stinker) they just redirect and are always quick to respond to anything the comes up. Staff are so understanding and truly love the pups that come to visit. We have tried other dog parks in the area and while they are great, it wasn’t the best fit for our pups. We are happy to have found The Watering Bowl and it just feels more intimate than some of the other parks which works well for our babies and for us to be able to keep a closer eye on them too (I’m admittedly a helicopter mom). There are many regulars that come in and everyone seems to get to know the other pups and it feels like its own little community. They have a dog wash station which is awesome for my baby that loves to try and get a filthy as possible before getting back in the car. Our pups enjoy ending the day with a little pup cup or doggie ice cream for the ride home. This place has been such a fun spot for us to come and watch our fur babies make friends and enjoy themselves in a safe environment where we know they are cared for even if we need to step away for a moment to grab a drink or restroom break. We come all the way from Bastrop to hang out at the park and it is definitely worth the drive! How could you not love this place??
