What dog owners are saying
Recent review snippets help visitors gauge vibe, upkeep, and who each park suits best.
This is a great spot to walk and enjoy nature ! There are so many trails. We love walking around this lake. You can fish here but the lily pads were grown up when we walked it but people were out fishing. There is a cool beaver den you can see from the trail by the lake. Awesome spot for pictures! There are cameras now set up in the parking lot. Sign suggests not leaving valuables in vehicles.
Read more about Asylum Lake PreserveExcellent county park. Beautiful fall colors, groomed trails, lovely scenery. Great children's amenities throughout. Loads of soccer and ball fields as well as a huge off leash dog park for properly licensed doggos!
Read more about River Oaks County ParkIt's a gem! For non-locals, Meadow Run is halfway between Chicago and Detroit and a terrific place to break up a drive with a dog between the 2 cities. My dog has never had unleashed access to 20 acres and she loved it. With multiple obstacles, the agility course was a great place to combine some mental and physical exercise. For warmer days the pond and diving dock look great and the rinse hose by the gate is convenient. The grounds are clean with access to drinking water (for dogs and people) and poop disposal (dogs only) scattered throughout. The staff are welcoming, friendly, anger helpful making for a great experience. Pro Tip: Download the initial registration form and complete it ahead of time. It's long.
Read more about Meadow Run Dog ParkI've been coming to this McDonald's and truck stop for years and it wasn't until today that I saw they have a dog park and I thought to myself, "Hey! I have a dog!" So my dog, my son and I got our happy meals and pup cups and we hit the dog park/ picnic area! What a great idea! They even have pup poo bags and trash cans as well as a spicket for water! Which came in very handy today since it was about 90F. And my dog just ate lunch 🦮🐾💩 hehehe...
