What dog owners are saying
Recent review snippets help visitors gauge vibe, upkeep, and who each park suits best.
Nice little playground here. Lots of little things to climb on but not the most impressive playground I’ve ever taken my daughter to. There are some slides and a small swing set also. Not that much in the way of seating areas so expect to stand a lot or sit on the playground itself.

Read more about Kempner ParkThis park is huge . Worth the drive. small & large size divided by fence. 2 Washing and drying stations. This is the place for the energy to be released with so much land to explore and scents of other dogs to smell, I was happy to see how happy he was
Read more about West End Dog Recreation AreaHad about ½ hr to kill between appointments. Since we had to bring the dogs to one of the appointments, I Googled 'dog parks' and went to this one. It's nice! There were 3 different areas for dogs. When we went, no one was there. The 'big dog' park had a few dogs in it. There's a gate. Walk in, close the gate, and walk into the play yard. There are plenty of activities for the dogs, although mine just wanted to run around. There are benches, but they are outside the fenced area. People, thankfully, pick up their dogs poo, as we didn't come across any. (Bags are provided) Although we didn't visit the entire park, it looked really nice. A play area for kids (with swings & slides). A couple playing tennis. A basketball court. Picnic tables under a pavilion. Sidewalk walking trails. And public bathrooms (although I didn't use it, so I can not comment on that) If I lived in Galveston, I could see us visiting there often.
