Our pup was one of the first to use the boarding service at Unleashed Alaska and we had such a wonderful experience with it! The entire facility (dog park, boarding area, day care, dog wash, etc) met my high standards for leaving my precious baby boy for an extended period of time. The employees all seem to genuinely love dogs - Garbanzo instantly loved them when we dropped him off. While we were gone, we received fairly regular updates and photos, allowing us to see firsthand how happy Garbanzo was, playing with other dogs and interacting with employees. I cannot thank Unleashed Alaska enough as we did not have to stress about our dog or his well-being. We ALL got to enjoy our vacations without worry!

Stephanie is knowledgeable about pets, and she made me feel like I could trust her with my babies. One of my dogs has some issues to which she has responded to her with patience and has modified things to meet her needs. I would recommend the dog park to anyone looking for a small business with excellent value.

Big park at the western outskirts of Anchorage. What’s special an out it is that there are world class Nordic skiing trails and hiking trails. I came late afternoon to see moose, but ended up gazing at the cool sunset glow to the west on one of the many benches that are on hill elevations. Early morning was a Nordic ski race taking place at the socccer stadium. Very cool!

Chugach State Park is a stunning natural expanse surrounding Anchorage, encompassing over 495,000 acres of rugged mountains, glaciers, alpine lakes, and dense forests. Its proximity to the city makes it both accessible and wild, offering photographers and outdoor enthusiasts a chance to experience Alaska’s dramatic landscapes without venturing deep into remote backcountry. The park’s trails cater to all levels, from short scenic hikes to challenging climbs such as Flattop Mountain, which rewards visitors with sweeping panoramas of Anchorage, Turnagain Arm, and the surrounding Chugach Range. Lakes and rivers throughout the park provide reflections of snow-capped peaks, creating spectacular compositions for landscape photography. Wildlife abounds, including moose, bears, eagles, and mountain goats, giving photographers opportunities for wildlife shots in a natural setting. Seasonal changes dramatically transform the park: winter blankets the peaks and trails in snow, summer brings vibrant wildflowers and verdant forests, and autumn paints the valleys in rich golds and reds. Chugach State Park is a perfect blend of accessibility, rugged wilderness, and photographic potential, making it an essential destination for capturing the essence of Alaska’s majestic beauty.
