Large park with large walkways and different paths to go on. They have a pond to fish in that is stocked 10 months out of the year. They also have a memory forest and areas to sit and just enjoy the views and peacefulness of the area
Read more about South Lakes ParkEntry is free and available 365 days a year. We used the south entrance at 3310 Collins Road. There is a large parking area inside the gate, but there is also parking outside the gate for days they are closed. We hiked north up to fishermans trail and across to the river ending at the end of Confluence trail where the two rivers meet. It's an easy hike, nice trails, and well marked. We will be back yo hike some of the other trails.
Read more about Clear Creek Natural Heritage CenterThis was our second dog park since getting our dog and we LOVED it. The dogs were all great and so were their owners. Just be careful because sometimes the owners aren't paying attention to their dogs and the dogs poop and it doesn't get picked up. The large pen is for dogs 30lbs and over and while I get small dogs like big dogs, be cautious because they bring in a lot of small dogs. So make sure your dog is okay with the littles. We like that the park lights up after dark. I haven't seen anyone really bring tennis balls, but we want to bring a bunch and let all of the dogs have fun! Make sure your dog isn't in heat please, someone did bring a dog in heat and there was a male that wasn't fixed. You must have your dogs current rabies vaccination!
Read more about North Lakes Dog ParkThis is easily one of the best all-around parks in the Denton area. We're local, and it's a fantastic spot for the whole family. For the Kids: There's so much for the kids to do. They love the playgrounds, and there's just a ton of open space for them to run around and burn off energy. For the Dog: The dedicated dog park is a huge plus for us. We have an Alaskan husky, and he needs a lot of room to run. The park is spacious, and the separate areas for large and small dogs are great. The walking trails around the park are also perfect for getting in a long walk with him. For Adults: It's just a really pleasant place to be. The trails are nice, it's great for a picnic, and it’s big enough that it never feels too crowded. It's clean, well-maintained, and has something for literally everyone in our family. Highly recommend it for any local family looking for a great day outdoors.
