Really fantastic spot with a decent mix of good people. The benches and the terrain could use a little bit of love, but it's a sweet spot for water loving pups
Read more about Chris Greene Lake Dog ParkFor this last 6 years of living in Charlottesville this has been our favorite spot to run. In the last year there have been 30+ homeless encampments ali g the trail with people openly urinating and defecating along the path. I guess that’s where our wonderful taxpayer dollars go now. The town should do something about this! Not even safe to run here anymore, I would not recommend running here alone, or at all.
Read more about Riverview ParkWe only explored a small fraction of the park but we enjoyed every moment we spent there. Our trip to the area was only for a weekend, but we still managed to visit this space twice before leaving. On each visit we encountered friendly dog walkers, casual strollers, parents with playful children and a few meditative onlookers, and there was ample space to be personable yet still have a private experience. We stayed close to the river access area of the park even though we didn't have time to venture far along the path. Definitely recommended for a peaceful afternoon in nature.
Read more about Darden Towe ParkWhat a great dog park! Lots of local owners come here to enjoy letting dogs off leash to run. Lots of trails, creeks, open spaces for them to enjoy. Dog water fontains too. Easy access of I-64 and SR340. Recommend 7-10am for best experience Please clean up after your dog as the rest of us do!
