It's a beautiful park. Love the scenic view. Nice repack walks or if you like jogging, enjoyable.
Read more about San Leandro Marina - to walkThis area is one of the best places in the Bay Area to run, jog, or walk. It has different kinds of exercises along the one-mile track and a mini outdoor gym. It gets crowded at times, especially on weekends and in the afternoon during weekdays. I recommend going early in the morning during the weekdays for a smaller crowd. You can play soccer, sand volleyball, and fish, etc. The sunset is a must-see. It is also dog-friendly!
Read more about Marina ParkIf you’re up for an even bigger challenge (especially if you want more elevation and views off the lake), there’s a longer loop: Distance: ~11.5–12.4 miles.Elevation gain: Higher (up to ~1,400 ft or more) Routes: Combines West Shore, Bass Cove, Brandon, and East Shore trails, Anthony Chabot Regional Park. It was an adjoining park with more extensive backcountry routes — sometimes incorporating Highland or Skyline connectors. This version will take more time (~4–6 hrs depending on pace/conditions) and some steeper sections.
Read more about Chabot ParkGreat place to walk your dogs. I would recommend on leash though, they have a lot of small Chipmunks/squirrels running around and if your dog is anything like mine she will go crazy over them and try to chase them down. The marina is a nice place to walk, ride your bike, or exercise. They have it all. A dog park at the end of the Marina, two play structures for children, picnic tables, water fountains with a station to fill your water bottles and bathrooms that are open during covid. There's also a big grass field where you can bring your own stuff to play soccer, football volleyball. During the summer you'll see the ice cream truck. The only problem I've found is that you could never find a parking spot there's always so many people there. Due to the big amount of people that go there I would bring my own toilet paper they sometimes run out. And to be safe where your mask and bring hand sanitizer.
