What dog owners are saying
Recent review snippets help visitors gauge vibe, upkeep, and who each park suits best.
Great, short hike. Dog-friendly, but you must keep your dogs on a leash…this makes sense since the path up is narrower than I thought it would be. The bridge is also shorter than I expected. There are bathrooms, BUT they are closed for the season.
Read more about Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge TrailheadGreat place for all ages and family gatherings. We spent our time at the playground and my 3&4yo kids loved it. The setup is very imaginative, creative, and super cute. Very clean, too. Nothing in disrepair. Two saddle swings and two bucket swings, lots of climbing, two slides, monkey bars, and of course the stationary tractor to pretend driving. Bathrooms are real nearby, just the typical multiple-stalls rest-stop/park bathrooms with the handicap stall at the back. Fixed picnic tables as well as a large pavilion with 22 big tables provide plenty of seating, as well as play bales of hay that make great benches. I thought there might be a lot of blind spots here, but it's actually quite open to keep track of kid whereabouts. And the surrounding sights are stunning! Really great place to run around. Immediate access to walking trails near a stream, and tons of parking. City garbage cans easily accessed. Leashed dogs were present.
Read more about Wheadon Farm Regional ParkWhat a view! I could sit and stare at the view of Utah Lake from this park everyday, it's magical! The playground is super fun and situated to keep the kids safely away from the street and parking lot. The bathrooms are also kept clean and have a diaper changing table, a HUGH plus for parents! Huge grassy area for multiple games of catch, frisbee, football, soccer whatever you bring. Also pickleball courts, covered pavilion.
Read more about Suncrest ParkThis is our favorite place to walk our dog when the temperatures are below 60 degrees. When it's hotter than that, it's too much for her, and there isn't any shade along the trail. The views along the trail are beautiful. The length of the trail is also perfect for walking our pup, getting her tired, and allowing her time to meet some other nice doggies. Portions of the trail system here allow dogs to be off leash, and other areas require that dogs be leashed. The parking at this trailhead does get a bit packed, and there are also many mountain bikers that use these trails. Make sure your dog is under control so they don't get hit by a biker. There are also porcupines and mountain lions that are in this area, so please be careful with your pups. There is a water fountain in the parking lot that also has a water fountain for dogs, but it is turned off for the colder months. (The water fountain was turned off today, 15 Nov 2025.)
