Hilltop Park in Signal Hill is a hidden gem in the Long Beach area. The park hides native heritage, enjoying the view to Catalina Island from the park and imagining the Tongva people communicating across the water with the island people is mind-blowing. It's a small park and still is well equipped with restrooms, grills, parking, and drinking water fountain. On a clear day you can easily see Downtown Los Angeles.
Read more about Hilltop Park★★★★★ A visit to El Dorado Nature Center is the perfect reminder of how peaceful a simple nature walk can be. The trails are easy and well-maintained, making them accessible for just about anyone who wants to enjoy some time outdoors. The scenery is beautiful the entire way—lush greenery, shady trees, little streams, and plenty of spots where you might catch glimpses of birds, turtles, or other wildlife. There are multiple trail options, so you can keep it short and leisurely or wander a bit longer depending on your mood. One of my favorite things about this place is how many stopping points there are along the way. Benches are thoughtfully placed throughout the trails, giving you plenty of chances to pause, take in the views, listen to the birds, and just soak in the calm atmosphere. It’s a quiet, refreshing escape from the city and a perfect spot for a relaxed walk, a mindful moment in nature, or a peaceful afternoon outdoors. Highly recommend! 🌿🦆🌳
Read more about El Dorado Nature CenterAmazing park!!! I love this park. It's my favorite park and I try to go as often as I can. It's HUGE and very beautiful. It's very well maintained. Once you enter most of the roads inside the park are one way with a white line divider for cars to park. You can drive to any area you want in the park and park your car and then go to the adjacent walking path. The park has various areas. There is youth camping and area 3 has many various events. Sometimes this area is closed to drive into and park because of an event, but you can use the walking path and walk anywhere in the park. There are lots of picnic areas. Many families come here to picnic for the day. There are lakes with ducks, geese, etc. There is an archery range and nice size dog parks. The dog parks are also very well maintained. You do have to pay for parking, but you can easily see where the money goes by how well maintained this park is. Note their website states they accept cash at the park entrance, but unfortunately they were robbed so now they only accept debit and credit cards to pay for parking. One of my pics has the parking prices. It's truly a wonderful getaway and I highly recommend.
Read more about El Dorado East Regional ParkWhat a fun experience! A nice smooth cruise around the harbor. Relaxing. Our Capitan gave a narration of what we were seeing in the harbor. Weather was perfect. Indoor seating and outside up top (about 12 stairs to go up top) ocean breeze and a nice panoramic view. Very budget friendly. Enjoyed very Much
