What dog owners are saying
Recent review snippets help visitors gauge vibe, upkeep, and who each park suits best.
Nice clean family/dog/bike park. 2 paved paths totalling about 2 miles. My daughter calls it the "bunny park", as we saw 21 bunnies in all different sizes and colors on our first trip. Plus countless Bluejays, Cardinals and other birds.
Read more about Hill Road ParkThis place is an underrated gem! I've only been here in the winter/spring transition, but look forward to seeing it's beauty in the spring, summer, and fall! Tons of places to walk and hike. Lots of nature to observe. The visitor center has bathrooms, classrooms, and live and taxidermy animals to observe. Wear hiking shoes or boots if the weather is even remotely wet.
Read more about For-Mar Nature Preserve & ArboretumThis place is bigger than you'd think. There are nice views to be had along the river, and it connects with the paved river trail. Definitely nice if you prefer paved hiking options, but there are some nice wooded walks. Be careful not to be parked beyond the second gate after sunset... I hear that you can get locked in.
Read more about Flushing County ParkI love this park. Absolutely beautiful. The pavilions make for perfect gatherings. We had my dad’s Celebration of Life here in the stone pavilion right by the playground. We were able to easily host 70-100 people with all the picnic tables and location was easy entertainment for the kids. This is also a great place to take family photos. Just be sure to bring bug spray. We got eaten alive!
