What dog owners are saying
Recent review snippets help visitors gauge vibe, upkeep, and who each park suits best.
What a lovely park in addition to being all inspiring, it is accessible for a short walk. A long hike, a drive through it, birdwatching animal watching and paleontology and anthropology thinking. The department of parks and recreation has done an outstanding job providing an audio tour of the park so that you can easily and clearly understand what you're seeing. The nature center is outstanding. Highly suggest taking a trip in their way back machine! Absolutely worth the time to be near parts of the Earth that have been there through all of time.
Read more about Garden of the GodsBeen coming here frequently for a few years now. Love hiking here the park is well kept and I wanted to give a shout out to the park rangers or whoever keeps this place clean! I have two dogs I bring and I always pick up after them. Which I know some people do but I wish everyone did! They do such a great job of picking up all the poop and making sure all trails are cleared when trees have fallen over as well! I appreciate yalls hard work! Here’s a few pictures throughout the years and different seasons. I would like to add a suggestion is it possible at the top to add another trash can before the main trail breaks off into the side trails? I feel this could help with the dog poop bags I see or just poo. I know my dogs are different compared to others, but they tend to let it all out before we reach all the trails.
Read more about North Cheyenne Cañon ParkThis place is a hidden gem, most likely the locals will recommend it. Next to the famous Garden of Gods, this place has similar rock formations, similar scenery but is way bigger and rocks are scattered over a large area. Unlike its popular neighbor, this place has way more tails, more trees and more fun to explore! It's a very good place to do hiking, wildness/nature exploring and rock formations sighting. You can easily spend hours and hours here. It's also not crowded, plenty of parking space. I really enjoyed hiking here and felt much better than GOG. Highly recommend. Note, it has two parking spaces and few entrances, and there is a trail map at the entrance. You better take a picture of it, otherwise it's easy to get lost inside there which is really quite big. Also, Google Map does work and has the trails showing up correctly in the map.
Read more about Red Rock Canyon Open Space PavilionYou can certainly choose your own adventure here. My boyfriend and I ended up walking almost 8 miles by combining various trails. Good amount of parking. Could be more trash bins along the trail, the dog people sometimes left bags or let their animals poop. I really appreciate the variety in views and terrain. And it was free!
